the scrambler

The applet is being loaded (attention java with swing 1.1.7 or more requird)...
when the select file dialog box appears, just dismiss it

help

Type the password you want to scramble in the password field
Select with the check boxes what characters are allowed (numerical, alphabetic or any printable characters)
give a maximal size length - the scrambled password will be shorter or at most exactly as long as this limit
press the button scramble

Now copy the returned value into the password field of your application. You don't need to keep the generated password, you can always regenerate it later (just remember exactly your password and the name you have chosen for the target).

how to store the targets?

Copy the application locally (WinGUI.jar)

Create an scrambler.html file like the follow:

start the application with an applet viewer with the command: appletviewer scrambler.html

If you copy the application locally (WinGUI.jar) an You can create targets (with the add/change button) and store them on disk (with the save (as..) button). Later on you can reload the file.
Copy the application to your harddisk, or to a floppy, so that you can use the scrambler everywhere.
